Survs.com is an online survey application. The site allows users to create and deploy sophisticated online surveys. The site uses a browser-based survey editor for creation of surveys. The editor allows the user to edit the survey title, add pages, edit page titles and add questions on pages. Questions can be single answer, multiple choice, open-ended text or matrix format. Images can be added to questions if desired. The user can apply a number of different pre-defined themes to the survey which control the colors and fonts used to display the survey. Users can also created a user-defined theme if desired.

Users can choose to create the survey in one of eight different languages, including Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish. Users can also use a custom language if theirs is not on the list. All changes made to surveys are saved in real time, and users can go back and edit individual pages or change the order of pages in the survey. Users deploy surveys in one of three ways – by sharing an HTML link, by imbedding the survey using HTML code, or by sending emails to survey respondents. The email contains a link to the survey on the Survs site.

Survs.com was launched into public beta early in 2009 by Lisbon, Portugal-based Enough Pepper. Enough Pepper was founded by Gustavo Pimenta, Joao Alfaiate, Miguel Arroz, and Paulo Andrade.

Competition to Survs.com comes from sites such as PollDaddy and SurveyMonkey. Both of these sites offer the ability to create more complicated surveys than Survs, but they are also more difficult to use. Pricing on these sites is similar to Survs, but Survs allows for more responses per month for about the same price.

The site is very responsive, with page loads happening quickly. The survey editor is built in Ajax, so using the site is much like using a desktop application. Navigation is intuitive, with a top menu bar shown on all pages. Headings on the menu bar include Welcome, Surveys, Themes, Account and New Survey. The survey editor is very easy to use, and the user interface is quite intuitive. There is no advertising displayed on the site.

Registration to the Survs site is free and is required in order to create a survey. The registration process asks for username, email address, password and timezone. Validation of the email address is required. The site is entirely free while in public beta, but Survs has announced pricing for premium memberships which will be implemented when the beta phase is completed.

The free membership plan will be limited to 1 user and 100 responses per month. There are three levels of premium membership offered – Basic, Pro and Premium. The Basic plans allows for 2 users and 2,000 responses per month. The Pro plan allows for 4 users and 4,000 responses per month. The Premium plan allows for 20 users and 24,000 responses per month. Pricing for the Basic, Pro and Premium plans is $19, $39 and $119 per month, respectively.

Surv is useful for anyone who wants to build, deploy and analyze online surveys.
